Have you ever considered going for an ascent of the Mont-Blanc, the highest summit in (western) Europe? It indeed deserves to be considered as a must-do in alpinism... Being so high up above the valley truly gives a sensation of being "on top of the world", the sunrise making the view all the more so amazing.
It's a real physical challenge though, the altitude making it harder to digest, sleep, climb. And don't be mistaken by the peaceful apparence of the pictures - on the day those were taken, the wind here and there threw us off balance! But those were unusually tough conditions.
A week ago, I guided Jeremy up to the Mont-Blanc summit from the Cosmique hut, via the "3 Mont-Blancs" traverse, and down via the Gouter hut. A route slightly more physical than the normal route, with slightly higher risks, but how beautiful! For Jeremy, the incremental efforts were well worth it!
And a point worth mentioning : it is much, much easier to find room in the Cosmique hut than in the Gouter hut...
